Superteam Georgia: May 2026 Recap

May was our biggest month yet. Tether and the Government of Georgia officially announced GELT, a lari-pegged stablecoin built for cheaper cross-border payments, near-instant settlement, and deeper integration with Georgia's digital-asset framework.

Georgian builders submitted 53 projects to Colosseum Frontier — the largest crypto hackathon ever, with 2,857 global submissions. We ran both a Superteam Georgia local track and a Tether track with $20k in combined prizes. Builders got to Q&A with Matty from Colosseum and Adam from Unruggable. Three Georgian projects already received accelerator interview invitations; global winners are expected at the end of June.

Superteam Georgia reached 25 members and launched the first Tbilisi Build Station in partnership with Bank of Georgia — a dedicated space for builders to meet, ship, and host events.

Local track winners: Ryvo Network (1st, $5k), Uwill (2nd, $3k), and Eventmesh (3rd, $2k) on the Superteam Georgia track. Stellar (1st, $5k), Stablecorp (2nd, $3k), and Novarite (3rd, $2k) on the Tether track. Eventmesh also won a mini-hackathon at Umbra Startup Village in Mumbai and launched tab.markets.

We hosted four events with 358 total attendees: Build Station Tbilisi, Solana in the Sky at Weather Report Sky Bar, Colosseum Submission Day, and Demo Day — with 50+ at Demo Day alone.

Looking ahead to June: a members-only dinner, an in-person builder event, two new bounties launching on Earn, Solana Summit Germany (June 13, Berlin), and Global Tech Weekend in Tbilisi (June 19–21). Open bounties and grants are live at earn.superteam.fun/regions/georgia.
